Terms & conditions
Booked & Boujee ("we", "us", "our") is the trading name of Booked and Boujee Ventures, a business name registered in Nigeria with the Corporate Affairs Commission (BN 9755576), based in Lagos. Contact: bookedboujee0@gmail.com · WhatsApp +234 913 523 4280.
These terms apply to every trip, package, day trip, consultation and custom trip you book with us, whether on this website, on WhatsApp, by phone or in person. By making a booking you confirm that you have read and accept these terms for yourself and for every traveller named in the booking. Please read section 6 (no refunds) carefully before you pay.
1. Making a booking
1.1 A booking is confirmed only when (a) we have received your payment and (b) we have sent you a confirmation email with a booking reference. A page saying "payment successful" is not a confirmation until we have verified the payment with our payment provider.
1.2 When you start checkout we hold your space for a short time (shown on the page) while you pay. If you don't finish paying in that time, the space is released.
1.3 The person making the booking (the "lead booker") must be at least 18 and is responsible for making sure every traveller's details are correct. Names must match passports exactly. We are not responsible for costs caused by wrong or incomplete details.
1.4 Prices are in Nigerian Naira (₦) and are per person on the basis shown on the trip page (for example "per person sharing").
1.5 Some trips have a limited number of spaces; others do not. Where spaces are limited, they are given in the order payments are confirmed.
2. What is included
2.1 Your trip includes exactly what is listed under What's included on the trip page when you book. Anything not listed is not included (for example meals other than those stated, personal spending, optional activities, tips, and flights that are not listed).
2.2 Once your booking is confirmed we will not increase the price you agreed to pay, except where you ask to change your booking, or where a government introduces a new tax or fee after you booked. If that happens we will show you the cost before you pay it.
3. Payment
3.1 Depending on the trip, you either pay in full when you book, or, where the trip page offers it, pay a deposit to secure your space and the balance by the date shown in your confirmation.
3.2 If you pay a deposit, we will remind you before the balance is due. If the balance is not paid by the due date, we may cancel your booking after contacting you, and section 6 applies to the money already paid.
3.3 Payments are processed securely by Paystack. We never see or store your full card number or security code.
3.4 Please pay only through this website or the account details we give you in writing. We are not responsible for payments made to anyone else.
4. Passports, visas and health
4.1 Each traveller must have a passport valid for at least 6 months after the return date, and any other documents listed under Requirements on the trip page (for example a yellow fever card).
4.2 Where a visa or travel authorisation is included, we apply using the details and documents you give us. The decision belongs only to the destination's authorities. We cannot guarantee approval or how long it takes. You must send the documents we ask for by the dates we give you.
4.3 You are responsible for your own health, vaccinations and fitness to travel. Please tell us before booking about any condition or need that may affect your trip, so we can help where we can.
5. Changes you ask for
5.1 Transfer to someone else: if you can't travel, you may ask to pass your place to another person. We will agree if the airline, hotel and other suppliers allow it, and you pay any charges they make. The new traveller must meet all the trip's requirements and accept these terms.
5.2 Moving to other dates or another trip: we may agree to this if there is space, at our discretion, and you pay any difference in price and any supplier charges.
5.3 Requests must be made in writing (email or WhatsApp) and take effect when we confirm them.
6. No refunds
6.1 Once a payment is successful, it is non-refundable. This applies to deposits, balances and full payments.
6.2 This means you will not get a refund if, for example:
- you cancel your booking or decide not to travel, for any reason;
- you miss the departure, arrive late, or leave the trip early;
- your visa or travel authorisation is refused, or you are refused boarding or entry, because of your documents, history or circumstances;
- you do not pay the balance on time and your booking is cancelled;
- you are removed from the trip because of your behaviour (section 8.2);
- you don't use a part of the trip (for example a tour or a meal).
6.3 We say this clearly because we pay airlines, hotels, visa offices and tour partners in advance on your behalf, and that money usually cannot be recovered. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation (section 9).
6.4 Section 5 (transfer to someone else, or moving dates) may still help you if you can't travel.
6.5 What section 6 does not affect: if we cancel your trip, or cannot provide what we promised, section 7 applies, and your rights under Nigerian consumer law, including the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018, are not affected.
6.6 If you dispute a successful payment with your bank or card issuer (a "chargeback") instead of contacting us, we may share your booking details and these terms with the payment provider to respond to it.
7. Changes and cancellation by us
7.1 We may need to make small changes, for example a different hotel of a similar or better standard, or a change in the order of activities. We will tell you as soon as we can.
7.2 If we make a major change to your trip before you travel, or we cancel it (for any reason other than your failure to pay), you may choose:
- (a) the changed trip, or other dates;
- (b) another trip of equal value, paying or receiving any difference; or
- (c) a full refund of the money you have paid us.
7.3 Events outside anyone's control ("force majeure"), such as war, unrest, natural disasters, epidemics, government travel bans, airline collapse or strikes: if your trip cannot go ahead, we will first offer new dates or a credit for the full amount you paid. If none suits you, we will refund the money you paid, minus costs already paid to suppliers that we cannot recover. We will show you those costs.
7.4 Refunds under this section are paid to the original payment method or to a Nigerian bank account in the lead booker's name, within 14 working days of being agreed. Banks may take longer to show the money.
8. During the trip
8.1 You must respect local laws and customs, the instructions of our team and guides, and the rules of hotels, airlines and venues.
8.2 We may end the trip of any traveller whose behaviour puts others at risk, breaks the law, or seriously disturbs the group. No refund is given in that case, and you are responsible for any damage you cause.
9. Travel insurance
9.1 Where travel insurance is listed as included, the cover is set by the insurer's policy, which we will send you. Where it is not included, we strongly recommend buying insurance that covers cancellation, medical costs and lost luggage.
10. Our responsibility
10.1 We will arrange the services we have agreed with reasonable skill and care.
10.2 Airlines, hotels and other suppliers are independent businesses with their own terms. We will help you if something goes wrong with them, but we are not responsible for their acts or failures beyond our control, except where the law says otherwise.
10.3 Apart from liability that cannot be limited by law, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for your booking, and we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable when you booked.
11. Photos and videos
11.1 We take photos and short videos during our trips and share some of them on this website and our social media (for example "Moments from the trip").
11.2 If you would rather not appear, tell us before or during the trip, or at any time afterwards, and we will not post you and will remove posts already shared where we can.
12. Reviews
12.1 If you send us a review, you allow us to publish it with the name and city you give us (never your email). Reviews are the honest views of the travellers who wrote them, shared with their permission, and we will take yours down at any time if you ask.
13. Your personal data
13.1 We collect and use your personal data, including your name, email address and phone number, to manage your booking and contact you, as explained in our Privacy Policy. By booking, you confirm that you have the agreement of the other travellers to share their details with us.
14. Complaints
14.1 If something is wrong during the trip, tell us straight away (WhatsApp +234 913 523 4280) so we can try to put it right there and then.
14.2 Other complaints should be sent to bookedboujee0@gmail.com within 28 days of your return. We will reply within 14 days. If we can't agree, you may contact the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
15. Law
15.1 These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We will first try to settle any dispute by talking to you in good faith; if that fails, the courts of Lagos State will decide it.
15.2 If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
15.3 We may update these terms. The version you accepted when booking applies to your booking.
